Homemade Pizza

Ingredients:

Dough;

  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 packet of yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 tsp dried molt powder
  • 2 1/4 cup bread flour
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 dried basil
  • 2 tbs olive oil

Toppings;

  • 1/2 red bell pepper
  • 3 mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup frozen spinach
  • 3 slices of bacon (optional)
  • 1/2 shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 Tbs butter
  • grated parmesan cheese

Sauce;

  • 3 tbs tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp Parsley
  • 1/4 tsp Basil
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes

Instructions:

STEP 1

In a bowl of a stand mixer (or a large bowl if kneading by hand) add water, sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes, until bubbly.

STEP 2

Add malt powder and flour. On top of flour add garlic salt and basil. Gently stir garlic salt and basil into flour, then add olive oil. Stir with dough hook on low speed for 5-10 min until you have a smooth dough. If kneading by hand your need at least 10 minutes.

STEP 3

Put oil in bowl and cover with plastic wrap, place in warm place and let raise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

I put my dough in a turned off oven.

STEP 4


While dough is raising cut bell pepper into slices, add salt and set aside.

STEP 5

Cut mushrooms into slices, top with salt and set aside.

STEP 6

Cook spinach in boiling water, drain water and add salt, once cooled press excess water out and set aside.

STEP 7


In a bowl add minced garlic, garlic salt and melted butter, mix well and set aside.

STEP 8

In another bowl add tomato paste, water, garlic salt, parsley, basil, oregano and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.

STEP 9


Preheat the pan you’ll be using for the pizza in a 425° F/ 218° C oven for 5 minutes. After pan is heated sprinkle cornmeal over pan.

STEP 10

Punch the air out of risen dough, carefully spread dough over heated baking pan. Spend a little more than half of the garlic butter mixture around crust.

STEP 11

Spread tomato sauce mixture over dough.

STEP 12

Add fresh basil and mozzarella cheese.

STEP 13

On top of cheese add meat of choice (optional) mushrooms, bell pepper and spinach that was prepared earlier.
Cook for 15 minutes in 425° F/ 218° C oven.

STEP 14

After pizza is done, spread remaining garlic butter on crust, and top with grated parmesan cheese.
