Pound Cake

Ingredients;

  • 2 sticks of room temperature butter (1 cup)
  • 1 (200g) cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 TBS vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (4oz) sour cream
  • 1 lemon zest and juice
  • 1 1/2 cup (180g) all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions:

Place room temperature butter in a large bowl, mix in sugar until it becomes a creamy mixture.

STEP 3

Add vanilla extract and one egg, mix together until creamy. Do the same with the remaining 3 eggs.

STEP 4

Add zest of one lemon and the juice from one whole lemon. mix in well.

STEP 5

Add sour cream to the mixture and mix in well.

STEP 6

Add flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda to the mixture. Mix salt, baking powder and baking soda into the flour before mixing into the rest of the batter.

STEP 7

Line a loaf pan with parchment paper, and batter and use spatula to even out.

All Done!

Bake at 350°F/180°C for 55-60 minutes, or until skewer comes out clean.
